The Embakasi East parliamentary aspirant Paul Babu Owino has called on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party members to maintain unity so as to re-elect Nairobi governor Evans Kidero in 2017.
Addressing ODM supporters at Masinde Muliro Grounds in Mathare on Sunday, Owino said it was vital for ODM members to support the sitting governor in the next general elections to increase the stakes of the party.
He also urged party supporters to shun minor divisions that may be harmful to the party’s campaigns.
“As ODM, we ought to put our house in order ahead of the next elections and shun petty politics. If we want Raila Odinga to be President, let us all support Evans Kidero for Nairobi governor seat and Elizabeth Ongoro for the Senatorial position,” he said.
He further said it was time Kenyans effected change in the country’s leadership by voting out the Jubilee administration which he said was being rocked by corruption allegations for the last four years.
“When they talk about feasting on meat, they should know that the meat has been stolen from Kenyans and we should not allow that,” he said.
