The ODM party has announced plans to reduce nomination fees for disabled persons.
Party Leader Raila Odinga said this will see more persons with disabilities elected in Parliament, rather than waiting to be nominated.
He said ODM will give all disabled candidates the necessary support once they are nominated, to ensure they win their suitable seats.
"We have reduced nomination fees for all persons with disabilities, who want to vie for various posts in 2017. We in ODM, want people with disabilities elected, not to be nomineated. We want them to have equal share just like any other Kenyan,'' said Odinga, Tuesday.
Speaking when he met over 500 persons with disabilities at Orange House, the Opposition leader warned that anyone who will engage in violence during party primaries, will be deemed disqualified.
He said the party has been working round the clock to ensure discipline among its members.
ODM party primaries are slated for January and February 2017.
He further criticised the Jubilee administration for allegedly ignoring the disabled.
According to him, Jubilee has failed to establish a kitty for them just like the youth and women.
He reiterated that ODM party rebels should brace for by-elections.
