ODM Women supporters from Tezo in Kilifi County today vowed to support re- election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The women who gathered at Tezo shopping centre along the Malindi Highway claimed that Raila insulted women of Kenya by telling them to remove their underwears in protest against IEBC.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Salome Karisa said that the women were angry with Raila and that they had come to realize he had no development agenda but to dispise and insult them.
“We are here to bid Raila goodbye and promise to support the re-election of Uhuru Kenyatta who respects us and has initiated development projects”, she said.
She alleged that Raila, while addressing a rally called upon all women to remove their panties so that they could show their displeasure with the way IEBC intended to rig in Jubilee.
Karisa said that it was a taboo for women to remove their clothes leave alone underwear no matter how they are angry.
Another political activist, Rose Mwalungo, said that apart from the ODM party insulting all the women in Kenya, they made it even worse for Kilifi by appointing women from Nyanza in the County assembly as if the local women did not qualify.
“We had supported ODM for much too long but now he has taken us for granted and insulting our intelligence and now enough is enough”, he said.
“We are very angry with ‘Baba’ for insulting us yet we voted for him 100% and now we shall vote for Uhuru Kenyatta, she said and cited some of the projects the President had initiated.
She mentioned Mavueni road, Bamba and Kilifi Voi road and that the many factories the government had promised to establish in Kilifi once re-elected.
Uhuru has appointed one of our own as the chief of General staff of the Kenya defence forces, KPA and several ambassadors.
Mwalungo was talking in respect of General Samson Mwathethe who is the Chief of the defence forces and Catherine Muturi-Wairi the Managing Director of Kenya Ports Authority both from Kilifi.
