The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has suspended its membership registration exercise to give priority to the ongoing mass voter registration exercise.
ODM chairman John Mbadi said the party membership recruitment would resume, February 15, 2017.
"We have reviewed the progress of the ongoing Mass Voter Registration exercise. The progress so far is less than satisfactory. One of the causes for this dismal performance is the inordinate emphasis our aspirants have placed on party membership recruitment at the expense of voter registration," he said.
"Consequently, you are instructed to suspend the membership recruitment for two weeks and invest all the time and effort at voter registration drive," Mbadi added.
The Suba MP further cautioned the ODM party membership to reject Jubilee party membership cards being 'hawked' countrywide.
