Rashid Mohamed has been suspended  by the party after he led anti-IEBC protests in Kakamega.

According to a statement that came from the party's Executive Director Ong'wen Oduor, Mr Mohammed will be restricted from speaking on behalf of the ODM youth league.

"Mohammed was effectively suspended from the ODM Youth League and subsequently replaced by John Ketora in an acting capacity," Mr Ong'wen was quoted by local dailies as saying.

However, Mohamed, who is accused of leading the protest in Kakamega on Monday said he was not aware of his suspension and claimed that he has only learnt about it from the media.

The Monday anti-IEBC protests culminated in the death of three protesters in Kisumu and Siaya counties after they were allegedly shot by the police with 13 others recovering from bullet wounds in other parts of the country.

It is however not understood how long the suspension of Rashid Mohammed will last.
