With only 17 days to the August 8 elections, the ODM leadership in Mombasa has moved to tame former journalist Mohamed Ali's wave that is sweeping across Nyali constituency.

Speaking at Frere Town grounds on Thursday, Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba pleaded with the residents to support Said Abdalla who is flying the ODM flag, saying he is the right man for the job.Bedzimba asked residents to vote wisely, adding that the constituency has been lagging behind in terms of development due to poor leadership."In 2013, you made a mistake. But in 2017, make the right decision by voting for Said Abdalla. He will take care of your interests. He has served you before and he still has a lot more to offer you," said Bedzimba.ODM lost the Nyali MP seat to Wiper Party in 2013 when the seat was won by Hezron Awiti. However, the lawmaker will not be defending his seat as he is eying to unseat Governor Hassan Joho.The 2017 Nyali MP race is shaping up into a two -horse race pitting ODM's Said Abdalla and independent candidate Mohamed Ali.
