Party national chairman John Mbadi said any form of violence will not be entertained during party primaries.

Mbadi said it is within the party nomination rules and regulations that any candidate who will promote acts of violence will not be spared.

“We are going to be strict and we will let the Constitution of the party guide us as we prepare to conduct free and fair party primaries,” he said.

He said the party must be run on ideas and not by hooligans who are out to wreck the party.

Addressing an Orange Women Democrats convention in Kisumu on Sunday, Mbadi said the party will be keen to identify candidates who incite violence among party supporters.

He said ODM party is built on the principle of social democracy and cannot afford to promote violence in its activities.

“ODM does not promote violence and there is no way we will see candidates and supporters engage in acts of violence without raising a finger,” he said.

Mbadi assured women who are planning to contest for political seats of a fair nomination exercise devoid of violence and intimidation.
