The ODM Nakuru branch will field candidates in all the 11 constituencies within Nakuru County in the 2017 general election.
County branch chairman Dennis Okomol said the party is preparing to have candidates in all the 11 constituencies as opposed to only fielding a candidate in Nakuru West which is considered its stronghold.
Speaking Monday during an interview in Nakuru town, Okomol said the party is prepared and ready to increase its popularity in the county by having presence in all the sub-counties.
“In the past election we only had candidates in Nakuru East, Nakuru West and Kuresoi but this time round we will be fielding candidates in all the constituencies in the county and we will campaign in those constituencies for our candidates,” said Okomol.
“We don’t want to be scared by the perception that Nakuru is a Jubilee zone and that is why we will be having candidates in all the constituencies,” he added.
ODM has only one MP in Nakuru County Samuel Arama who has since announced his defection to the Jubilee coalition.
