The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has revised its nomination schedule.
The party on Thursday said this will give it ample time to prepare a good budget for the exercise.
The nominations have been pushed forward by six days, and will now commence on April 7.
The primaries days have also been reduced to nine from 22.
“Only the Board is mandated by the constitution and the organs of the party to conduct the primaries and the issuance of certificates to the winners is the sole prerogative of the Board,” said National Elections Board officials Judy Pareno (Chairperson) and Robert Arunga (secretary).
The primaries will on day one held in Bungoma, Busia and Machakos.
This will be followed by Kisii, Nyamira, Samburu and Trans Nzoia on April 9.
Nominations in Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale will be held on April 11, while in Tana River, Siaya and Kisumu the exercise will be held on April 13.
On 15th April, nominations will be conducted in Turkana and Kakamega, followed by Kajiado, Taita Taveta and Narok on April 17.
Homa Bay, Lamu and Migori will hold theirs on April 19, followed by Nakuru, Uasin Gishu and Vihiga on April 21.
The nominations will be concluded on April 23 in Nairobi, Makueni and Garissa.
