With the future of NASA still hanging in the balance amid tension on the choice of the flag bearer, ODM, a key member of the alliance, will on Sunday hold a grand rally at Tononoka grounds in Mombasa.

According to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who is also ODM's deputy party leader, the rally will provide the platform for the party to make a 'ground-shaking' announcement in a function that is expected to be purely an ODM affair.

Raila is expected to tag along with Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula as a show of unity more so at a time when the coalition is facing a litmus test.

The meeting which is also aimed at solidifying the opposition's support base comes barely two weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta's tour of the region.

Despite the perceived widening rifts within the coalition, ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani downplayed reports that there is a looming fallout in the outfit.

Speaking at the sidelines of the Legislative Summit in Mombasa on Thursday, Zani, who is also a member of the coalition's technical committee tasked with selecting the flag bearer, said all is well within NASA.

She added that they are almost finalizing the process and that the flag bearer will be unveiled soon, ahead of the IEBC deadline.
