Speaking after the two day meeting held in Maanzoni in Machakos County, the leaders said the re-launch of the calls for referendum will take place on today.

The meeting was chaired by the party leader Raila Odinga. ODM secretary general Ababu Namwamba said plans are underway to re-launch 'Okoa Kenya' campaign to pressurize the government to release more funds for county development.

“ODM joins other like minded Kenyans to soldier on with the agenda of constitutional reforms through the Okoa Kenya movement which is scheduled for official launch on 23rd Thursday this month,” Namwamba said.

In the same breathe, Ababu Namwamba who is also Budalangi MP dismissed reports that he wants to quit ODM after the Public Accounts committee which he chaired was disbanded.

Ababu termed the reports as false and accused the media for misleading Kenyans.

The campaign is aimed at seeking the public opinion over the issue of making amendments to the constitution so that the counties take the lions' share of the national cake.

The CORD coalition postponed the re-launch to mourn country loss after Al-Shabaab attacked and killed students of Garissa University.
