ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire says the party will have no problem supporting deputy president William Ruto in 2022 should he come out openly and apologise to families that lost their loved ones in 2007/08.
The DP has launched a charm offensive especially in traditionally support base of ODM in Nyanza and is said to be keen to appoint Fred Matiang'i as his deputy.
And in a conversation with the reporter, the former Kitutu Masaba MP said Ruto's apology on social media is meaningless adding that the same should be felt by those who lost property.
"He was largely linked to skirmishes in Rift Valley and our people died. He has not come out openly and apologised to Kenyans.
"As ODM or even me as an individual, I will not have problem voting him if he pushes for compensation of affected families besides apologising for the loss," he added.
ODM party through party leader Raila Odinga has dismissed claims that the veteran leader will be running for 2022 polls.
Even with the uncertainty, Raila's lieutenants have however insisted that he will be on ballot for the fifth time in his political career.
