Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose has indirectly linked his predecessor Timothy Bosire of allegedly funding deadly protests in Gachuba ward.

On Tuesday, one person was left dead with several injured when police unleashed on protesters opposing construction of Sh5 billion Bonyunyu dam.

"It is clear that he (Bosire) has never moved on. He is even aware that the case filed against me is weak," said Mose, in reference to a poll petition challenging his victory.

With KNHRC through commissioner Kamande Mchake vowing to investigate the matter, several youths are reportedly detained in Keroka police over the controversy.

But Mose insists that he has been championing for dialogue, however much no consensus has been reached.

"It is wrong to fund protesters while we have ongoing consultations. He has there when this dam was initiated," he said.

On Tuesday, Bosire termed reports linking him to the controversial protests as unfortunate but called for dialogue.

"People want their rights to be respected and it is unfortunate that they are being kiled by this vision less region," he said.
