Should Raila Odinga exit political scene, the Orange Democratic Movement party will not crumble, party treasurer Timothy Bosire has said.
There have been talks about Raila's exit from politics after four decades and already, a section of leaders among them James Orengo are said to be lobbying to succeed him.
While dismissing the idea of forming one political party in Gusii, Bosire said the ODM party will even be stronger after Raila's retirement.
"ODM is not owned by Raila. It is a mass revolutionary movement that is owned by people. It can never be shaken even with Baba's exit.
"We have many leaders who can take over and steer us ahead. The party shall field a presidential candidate at all costs in 2022," he said.
The former Kitutu Masaba MP also warned party MPs who are 'mingling' with rivals of 'harsh' punishments if they continue courting the outsiders.
Even though Raila's next move remains unclear, sources say that the former PM is keen to still play a role albeit an auxiliary one in 2022 race.
