The famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga is not meant at blocking Deputy President William Ruto from ascending to state house.
NASA technical and advisory committee member Koitamet Ole Kina said that the handshake was solely meant at uniting the country and not at blocking anyone from achieving anything.
“The handshake was purely for uniting the country and not about 2022. It was not meant at blocking anyone from ascending to any office,” said Ole Kina.
Speaking in Nakuru, Ole Kina said that the handshake was also a coalition agreement between President Kenyatta and Odinga.
“It was neither a coalition agreement nor a power sharing deal between President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga but it was about Kenyans and the unity of the country,” he said.
He insisted that NASA will continue playing its minority and oversight role as per the constitution.
“As NASA we will continue to play our minority role as the constitution requires as even as we work with jubilee to put the country together,” he said.
