Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro has made it official that she will be on the ballot paper for Ruaraka Parliamentary seat by a yet to-be-named-party ticket.

Speaking from Orange House on Wednesday, Ongoro said she has defected from ODM citing unfair treatment.

"In 2013 they did the same to me citing regional balance. This time I opted for a lesser seat for party unity, but once again they have shortchanged me. I have been silent for far too long and I cannot keep quiet anymore," said Ongoro.

Ongoro blamed her woes on the current area MP TJ Kajwang who has already been handed a direct nomination by ODM.

"I have paid money to ODM and I have been campaigning. On the other hand, Hon Kajwang has been hiring goons to disrupt my campaign rallies. However, ODM has failed to take action against my aggressor instead opting to reward him. This is an affront to women of Kenya by a party that purports to support women. Were it not for my supporters who helped me escape in one of the occasion when Kajwang goons attacked me, I could have lost my life," she added.

She also accused ODM National Elections Board of planning to rig in some aspirants.

"The chairman of elections board of ODM has his company printing ODM nomination papers. How do you then expect the party nominations to be fair? If they want to deny Raila another chance let them do it as Kenyans know," Ongoro said.
