The party now wants the government to explain why it was so slow in responding to the attack, which left 147 Kenyans dead on the hands of the Al Shabaab militants.

Through the party Secretary General Ababu Namwamba, the party has announced that there are some governmentt officials who did not act on the intelligence reports given before the attack.

Speaking during the party’s meeting at Maanzoni Lodge, Machakos County on Monday, Namwamba revealed that the party is planning to meet religious leaders in search of a permanent solution to radicalization in the country.

Namwamba also used the forum to ditch reports that he is planning to leave the ODM party, saying that he is in ODM to stay.

He warned that those who are using his name to cause divisions in ODM are dialing the wrong number.

There have been calls for the government to explain what exactly happened during the Garissa attack, with leaders from different quarters blaming the government over slow reaction.
