At his ongoing fireworks after losing Senate Minority seat to James Orengo, Wetangula labeled Raila as a 'mean' leader adding that he has terminated their relationship.

"We cannot allow him to continue using the Luhya community as a bridge. I no longer have nothing to do with him," he said.

Since the surprise unity pact between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta, the NASA coalition has been on shambles with Wetangula announcing his exit.

In an interview with KTN News on Monday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna termed Wetangula as a burden adding that his dissociation with Raila won't be impact the vote rich western belt.

"He has not written to political parties register so whatever he is saying is meaningless to us," said Sifuna.

He added: "And in any case he leaves, his move is inconsequential. He has been a burden to Raila Odinga and the ODM party."

The Ford Kenya leader was irked by ODM's decision to de-whip him, despite the existing MoU between all NASA affiliates.

Already, Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi, have embarked on nationwide campaigns rallying behind the Luhya unity ahead of 2022 elections.
