Jubilee Party has been making inroads in the vote-rich region that predominantly voted for veteran politician Raila Odinga who is also poised to run against President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 polls.

And nominated Senator Ms Ong’era on Thursday in an interview said the party was still ‘strong’ and insisted that it would increase its representation in 2017 election in all seats on contention.

“ODM is the strongest party in Kisii County and we are keen to win all seats available in 2017 polls. We have a backing of the community and no one should purport that we have weakened,” she said.

Ong’era added: “The Jubilee euphoria is just but an exaggeration. People are intact within the ODM because we will form government in 2017. As a matter of fact, we have received many people who have defected from Jubilee and we expect more in coming months.”

Ong’era’s sentiment comes at the time when top ODM leaders from the region led by area Senator Chris Obure and Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka are warming up for Jubilee Alliance party.
