Nyamira Orange Democratic Youth League leader has hailed his fallen Nairobi counterpart Stephen Mukabana as ‘irreplaceable’, few hours after Mukabana was shot dead.
Mukabana, a respected figure within the Orange party was shot dead on Tuesday night after allegedly trying to respond to a distress call from a friend.
Dennis Marube said the death was a ‘huge’ blow to the ODM party, and urged youths to remain united as a show of solidarity.
“On behalf of Nyamira ODM youths, let me take this opportunity to mourn our brother Stephen in a special way. He was an indispensable figure in our party especially in Nairobi and he’s absolutely irreplaceable,” Marube said.
“This is a big blow to the Orange party youth wing and it will take time to get his replacement. Once again, we appeal for calm as police investigates the incident,” he added.
He challenged party youths to remain vigil by taking campaigns to grassroots to sensitize electorates on the party’s manifesto ahead of 2017 elections.
“As ODM youths, I call upon all of us to remain united and push the party’s agenda to the grassroots. It’s us who will make the party perform by articulating its manifesto as early as this. We must remain united and lead by example if we want to win presidency,” he said.
