A section of ODM youths have vowed to arrest Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i over what they call 'abuse of office'.

On Thursday, a Nairobi court fined Matiang'i ShSh200,000 after convicting him of contempt of court. 

Led by Douglas Maati of Masaba Youth League, they insisted that the move shall restore constitutional order. 

"However powerful he may be,  the rule of law must be applied equally," he said. 

He further stated: "We shall show Kenyans example by arresting him any time he's seen within Nyamira."

Although he was not sentenced,  Matiang'i has been thrown into a limbo given that his suitability as a state officer could be questioned.

The ODM youths further accuse him of mishandling self proclaimed NRM General Miguna Miguna.
