Zani told the Star Wednesday that the findings were aimed at blackmailing Raila.

The nominated Senator further claimed that Ipsos was being used to push for a certain agenda and prepare ground for interfering with the total number of voters in next year’s elections.

She said the ratings did not add up to 100 per cent, and neither did the researcher explain regional balance.

“It is so sad that Ipsos came up with data it cannot verify but was confident to push for a certain agenda, which everyone knows,” she said.

“The questions were crafted to blackmail our party leader instead of investing on issues which directly affect Kenya and leave voters to decide who is popular."

Ipsos lead researcher Tom Wolf has defended the company’s methodology saying the survey was above reproach.

The nominated Senator further said the report neither exhibited the scientific research process used nor provided raw data on how they arrived at certain figures.

Zani said the opposition will consider formulating a bill aimed at strengthening the legal framework to ensure research is not used for blackmail.
