Supremacy battles between Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama and his deputy Amos Nyaribo escalated on Thursday after the latter sacked county secretary Erick Onchana packing in a signature purportedly originating from the governor.
Governor Nyagarama remains indisposed following failed 'limbs' and is due to travel to United States of America on Friday for specialised treatment.
A letter purportedly from the governor sending Onchana home was issued by Mr. Nyaribo, who is keen to succeed the ageing county boss in 2022.
In a letter directed to his deputy, Nyagarama warns him against acting against the spirit of the constitution, adding that the principal assistant cannot hire or fire.
"I wish to bring to your attention that I will be travelling for medical check up from May 10 outside the country.
"During my absence, you will be required to discharge duties on my behalf but you must limit yourself to the constitution as artculated in article 179(5)," read the letter.
But Nyaribo is said to have seized the powers and immediately drafted a letter discharging Mr. Onchana from duty contrary to the constitution.
Apparently, the dismissal letter was bearing a signature which has since been proven to be an imitation if the county boss.
While Nyagarama has remained mum about the turn out of events, sources close to him hints that he has since disowned the signature, which is not anywhere close to his.
On Borabu Watchtower WhatsApp group on Thursday, Nyaribo could not respond to the weighty issues but instead only refuted claims that he was due to travel to Singapore.
