Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has criticised the Jubilee administration, following his arrest, Friday, in Homa Bay county.

He was arrested on his way from to Migori County from Kisumu County, and was arraigned before Homa Bay Principal Magistrate Susan Ndegwa, shortly after.

He was charged over remarks allegedly issued at Tourist Hotel, in Homa Bay, on July 2, 2017, which allegedly amounted to hate speech and incitement, and was released on a Sh500,000 bond.

According to the police, the ODM party Director of Elections, told a public gathering that: "Yesterday I told Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho that before coming here, he should prepare Makaburini grounds. We will go there with Raila and he will be sworn in. He will be the president in the Coast, Nyanza, Western and North Eastern. This others will remain at their home in Nyeri."

On Saturday, Junet who is a strong supporter of the ODM party and Opposition leader Raila Odinga, termed the arrest as a cowardly act by the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led administration

According to him, Kenya is bleeding from all openings, and needs to be salvaged from its Intensive Care Unit.

"The worsening state of the economy is enough to validate the looting of public resources by leaders in this administration. Criminals freely pounce on innocent people and they want us to keep quiet. People are not fools after all. They will unequivocally reject them at the polls as a sure payback for their recklessness and crass ineptitude," Junet said, in a statement seen by the Star.
