The ODM party has postponed nominations that were slated for Friday April 21, in three counties.
The party's National Elections Board said it has reviewed the progress of the primaries the exercise began April 13, and that it is satisfied that the exercise has largely been successful except for a few hitches.
The Board's chairperson Judith Pareno said they had decided to postpone primaries in Homabay and Migori Counties to Monday April 24, and for Vihiga County, pushed to Saturday 22nd.
She attributed the postponemnet to reorganisation occasioned by the nomination repeats in several areas across the country where the exercise faced hitches reported.
ODM clarified that there will be no activity Friday 21st, but on Saturday, the exercise would be held in Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu and Vihiga Counties as well as other five polling stations in Taveta sub-county of Taita Taveta County.
On Monday 24th, Pareno indicated the exercise would be held in Homabay, Migori, Siaya, Kisumu and Uasin Gishu Counties, Nakuru Town West Constituency and St Monica Polling Station in Kitengela ward of Kajiado East.
''So far we have conducted primaries in several Counties across the country and the Board appreciates the positive response by party members who have continued to turn up in large numbers to take part in the exercise. This is a step in the right direction,'' she said, Thursday.
