ODM leaders have insisted that they will not allow IEBC officials to access polling stations for the October 26 presidential polls.

This, according to the MPs, this is one way of ensuring that opposition areas do not vote, coming days after Raila Odinga withdrew from the race.

The have vowed to ensure there are no elections in the opposition’s stronghold, as they push for reforms before conducting the polls.

Speaking on Monday, the leaders; among them Moses Kajwang’ of Homa Bay, Ben Okello (Migori) Women Rep Gladys Wanga and Eve Obara of Kaspul Kapondo said they will bar all efforts to vote.

“What we know is that there will be no election in Kenya on October26, 2017,” said Kajwang.

“The constitution states that if one candidate quits the race, then the planned elections becomes null and void to pave way for a fresh election,” said Wanga.

Their threats come a day after IEBC Commissioner Roslyn Akombe promised that they will ensure maximum security for the officials.

Akombe spoke on Sunday in Bondo, when she attended a training forum for the IEBC officials who are set to oversee the polls.
