[Photo|Courtesy]The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has advised Members of the County Assembly (MCA) elected and Nominated on the party ticket to support its candidates eyeing the County Assembly Speaker.ODM National chairman John Mbadi said areas where the party has the majority, MCAs should rally behind each ODM Speaker candidate."The party’s policy is the strengthening of Devolution as a way of empowering wananchi and taking development close to the people hence the need for election of Speakers who will champion the agenda in the Assembly," said Mbadi.In a statement, the Suba lawmaker indicated Speakers play a pivotal role in selling agendas of their sponsoring parties. "ODM directs her members to elect people sponsored by the party to the position of Speaker in the Assemblies where the party or/and NASA commands the majority," he added, Monday.
