Raila Odinga presenting a petition at the crying wall of Jerusalem. ( Photo/ the-star)Raila Odinga's quest for the Presidency has been riddled with great allusion to biblical narratives more than ever before. It began with Raila praying at a wall in Jerusalem, perhaps seeking the intervention of God in his last quest for the much sought-after seat. When he came back, Raila proclaimed to all and sundry that the gods had told him that he will be the new Joshua who will lead the people to the utopian world of Canaan where milk and honey flowed freely. His great supporters quickly took the cue. Soon, they were preaching to any who cared to listen that the journey to the promised land was unstoppable.Sadly, Raila failed again in his quest. Like Moses of the Bible, Raila quickly thought and chose to climb the mountain again by visiting America to restore his fledgling fortunes. His supporters will be eagerly waiting with the hope that he comes with a new sense of hope, a new constitutional framework that will lead them back to Canaan. The journey to Elijah Masinde's 'zayuni' is unstoppable. The people will keep on having faith in baba's leadership as they await him to land at JKIA with the tabernacle in his hands.
