Speaking on Tuesday night during an interview with a local TV station, Kabogo said that most of the county houses in Ofafa are condemned and are unsuitable for living in.

Kabogo also noted that the houses occupy a lot of space while just holding a limited number of people.

"Thika Town population has significantly gone high and we need modern structures that can absorb all these people," said Kabogo.

He also said that the houses make little returns to the county government while residents expect the government's services.

"The houses are even cheaper than those in Kiandutu. Where do you find a 3 bed-roomed house at Sh2000 nowadays yet we are expected to collect garbage, provide water and other things?" he asked.

Kabogo also alleged that occupants have flaunted the tenant-landlord agreement by building other structures like kiosks ending up destroying some of the property.

Kabogo now wants the occupants to move out saying the county government's bulldozers are on the way. He, however, promised that current occupants will be given the first priority once the houses are complete.
