A policeman who was arrested on Sunday over the shooting of a Kiambu politician has been arraigned in court.

He, however, failed to take a plea when he appeared in court on Monday.

William Mwangi was shot dead inside his car in Limuru town after meeting friends at Club U-Turn.

The accused Edward Manjulu is a Flying Squad constable based at the Kiambu DCI headquarters.

The prosecution requested more time to complete the probe.

He appeared before resident magistrate Justus Kituku.

The officer was transferred from Tigoni police station. He will be detained there for seven days, after which the case will be mentioned.
