Thika Town Deputy OCPD Mary Kiarie wants area residents to support the police in their quest to maintain law and order.

Briefing the press at her Thika office on Saturday, Kiarie said that they are counting on the public in the effective and successive fight against crime.

The Deputy OCPD said that crime rates remain high in some parts of Thika sub-county and called for public support to end crime in the area.

“We are appealing to members of the public to co-operate police as we strive to maintain law and order,” urged OCPD Kiarie.

She warned that stern action will be taken against criminals adding that their days are numbered if they fail to surrender.

“We have put in place adequate strategies to fight criminal gangs and groups in Thika,” added Kiarie.

She said that they are working closely with Kiambu County government to ensure that safety of resident and their property are not tampered with.

The Deputy OCPD stated that it is the responsibility of police to ensure law and order are maintained adding that they are committed to do the same.

Kiarie at the same time urged youths across Thika to desist from crime. She revealed that some people are using teenagers to commit crime.

She said that no one caught in crime or disrupting peace will be spared adding that the law will take its full course.

The Deputy OCPD instead urged youths to be on the frontline to support police officers in their efforts to weed out criminals from the sub-county.
