(Photo/Standard.)A Kenya Wildlife Service officer from Isiolo County is being held at Wajir police station on suspicion of helping Ethiopians get into Kenya illegally. Wajir County police commander Stephen Ng'etich said the officer was arrested at Garsekoftu area with his uniform and rifle."The officer was promptly arrested for failing to explain why he was in the area. He is helping us with investigations since we suspect he has been helping foreigners into the country illegally and this poses a security threat," he said.Ng'etich said the officer will be charged in court once investigations are done. He warned State officials and members of the public against helping foreigners into the country."Anyone coming to Kenya must follow the legal procedure failure to that, police will do their job", he said.He assured that police will beef up security on the borders to ensure no one trespasses into the country.
