A police officer sustained injuries in the head after an unknown gang raided Booker police station early Wednesday morning.
The officer, identified as Ezekiel Juma, suffered head injuries which reports say could have been inflicted using a sharp object like a machete.
Citizen Digital reports that the officer is admitted to St Mary’s Hospital, Mumias.
He will be airlifted to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for specialised treatment.
Western Regional Police Commander, Moses Ombati said the policeman was alone at the reporting desk during the 3am incident.
His three colleagues, he added, were doing routine patrols in the area.
The gangsters are said to have stolen seven G3 guns and over 100 rounds of ammunition.
