A police officer in Mombasa, reportedly swallowed Sh2,000 bribe, to avoid arrest.
It is believed the officer from the Kisauni Dog Unit, was taking the bribe from a 'tuk tuk' operator in Kongowea, when anti-corruption officers caught him.
To avoid arrest, he then swallowed the money, and ran to escape, Wednesday.
According to the Daily Nation, area Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) representative, George Ojowi, noted they were following up on the officer, who was yet to return to his duty station.
According to him, Dog Unit officers are not supposed to do traffic duties.
He said the officer would face legal action, if caught, and warned corrupt officers, that their days were numbered.
