A senior agricultural officer in Nakuru is optimistic Kenya will achieve the agricultural pillar in its Vision 2030.
Nancy Rotich says this is possible because Kenya has embraced and is now using appropriate and modern agricultural technology to do farming, adding that this move is meant to boost agriculture and to increase farmer’s harvest.
‘We normally update our staff on the different agricultural technologies available so that they can disseminate the information when they go to the field."
Speaking to this writer in Nakuru on Friday, the officer in the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute has produced new seed varieties which are resistant to diseases in addition to ensuring those crops mature fast and that farmers get maximum yields.

According to her, Kenya has strived to ensure that there is food security, an act which will prevent Kenya from seeking food aid from other countries.
