A middle man was on Friday morning arrested at Bibilioni location, Limuru in connection with manufacture and sale of chang'aa .
Simon Kariuki was arrested at his den at 6 am through an effort of the local chief, James Kamau and Administration Police officers.
Kamau said that they got a tip-off from members of the public before invading the den.
“With the help of APs, we arrested the suspect and recovered 200 litres of the brew,” said Kamau.
The chief said that the illicit drink was packed in plastic bottlers and hidden in a thicket.
The chief said that the provincial administration has stepped up the fight against illicit drinks and offenders will be dealt with according to the law.
He thanked the members of the public for working with his office to eliminate illicit liquor.
He also urged the youth to desist from consumption of chang'aa which he said has ruined the lives of many youth.
The suspect was booked at the Bibilioni police station and is expected to be arraigned in the court to answer charges of being in possession of illicit liquor
