According to police reports, a total of 15 donkeys were stolen and slaughtered in Nyandurua county last week.
Mirangine OCPD Thomas Sungut speaking during a donkey's owners' forum organized by Kendat and Brooke East Africa on Friday said chiefs and assistant chiefs will be involved in the donkey transaction.
Sungut said no arrests have been made after 7 animals were stolen from Mirangine area which has been mostly affected.
"The donkeys were stolen at night and slaughtered. No suspect has been arrested but police have launched manhunt to get the thieves", said Sungut.
He said the thieves only took the animals' skins and liver.
