Ogiek Community living in Kaptarakwa ward of Uasin Gishu will now get title deeds for their land after staying in the county for more than 10 years without the crucial document.
According to the Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra, more than 3,000 members of the community will soon be handed the documents.
“All plans are on course since the new Cabinet Secretary for Lands Farida Karoney has approved the plan and soon we will be issuing the title deeds. I know Kesses people have land issues but we will work with the national and county government to solve the matter,” said the Kesses legislator in Eldoret town, Sunday.
“The title deeds will be issued by the CS in the course of the month. My aim is to ensure that every resident living in Kesses constituency is in possession of a title deed,” he added.
Mishra further reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all roads in his constituency are in good condition in a move he says will help ease transport of agricultural products in the constituency.
“We will partner with both the County and National government to ensure that all roads are passable," he promised.
