Elders and professionals from Kiptororo and Tinet in Kuresoi North and KuresoiSouth sub-counties said the senator should have consulted first.
Led by elder Philip Koskei and Simon Rotich, the elders said the move by Prengai was bad and will injure the community.
“It was a blind move by the young man. Such moves may injure the reputation of the community, which had started reaping fruits from Jubilee through the nomination of a senator and two MCAs,” said Koskei.
Rotich also said the move will drag the community behind.
“Our community is finally being recognised, but Prengei is dragging us back. We don’t want to be punished because of an individual,” he said.
The community said they are behind Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui.
