This comes after a section of the morans surrendered their spears, bows and arrows at the deputy commissioners office on Thursday further calling on the relevant authorities to come out with a winning strategy that will see the two warring groups agree and live in harmony.

Confirming the new development, Njoro deputy commissioner Peter Kinyanjui eluded confidence in ensuring peace was retained saying that the two communities had agreed to peacefully resolve their issues.

"I believe we are on the right track because having the morans surrendering their weapons without being coerced shows that they are ready to peacefully resolve this issue," he said.

Kinyanjui further noted that the move might have been triggered by the president's visit in the area and deployment of GSU officers arguing that the morans were previously very reluctant to surrender.

While in Molo on Wednesday, the head of state called for an end to the different intertribal clashes that had been witnessed in different parts of Nakuru further tasking relevant authorities to resolve the issues and table a report in his offices in two months time.
