Ogiek elders have highly condemned sex between cousins terming it  a taboo in the society.

Speaking on Thursday during a press conference in Marishoni, the elders said if such will be legalized, God will punish our land as such sex will cause bad omen in the country.

"When did cousins got allowed by law to have sex? This is very unique and sad as well. We need prayers as a country," said Yebei Tum, Ogiek Elders Association spokesman.

Ogiek now urges law makers to review the clause related to sex and amend it before the society deteriorates.

"We as elders cannot allow sex between cousins allowed. The clause related to sex should be amended as soon as possible," he added.
