Kisumu Public Service Board has denied claims of corruption at the Board as quoted in one of the local dailies on Wednesday.
The Board chairman Eng Wilson Oguya said the Board has strived to carry out its functions above board.
Mr Oguya said those who have applied for jobs have been put in a proper test with no discrimination or favour.
He said qualification has been the hallmark of the recruitment exercise and nobody has been employed in the county courtesy of corruption.
“I don’t know where that corruption statement was derived from, we are not corrupt. Let anybody who has an aorta of evidence give it to the relevant authorities,” he said.
Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Wednesday, Oguya said the statement was in bad faith and aimed at tarnishing the name of the county government of Kisumu.
He said the Board is guided by the Constitution and cannot engage in criminality.
“We have aligned out duties to the Constitution. We are professionals and cannot compromise our duty for corruption,” he said.
Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga was quoted in one of local dailies alleging that some Board officials were engaging in corruption.
