A governor has accused the Jubilee administration of belittling Africa by deporting a man who enjoys every right of being Kenyan.
Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia) said Thursday it's a shame that the government with all the machinery under its disposal has resolved fighting opposition leaders instead of working to help Kenyans.
"The circumstances surrounding deportation of Miguna Miguna to Canada is a shame to African countries," Ojaamong said on his official Facebook page.
"How can you deport someone from his birth country to a country he just went to seek education and so as to come back to help us all? So even those doctors who went to study abroad and got dual citizenship, when they come back here and are caught with little mistakes, will they be deported back to those countries."
Miguna was deported to Canada after government accused him of being in the country illegally.
The Interior Ministry said Miguna had denounced his Kenyan citizenship although his particulars indicate he was born in Kenya.
Ojaamong said Jubilee and NASA should seek dialogue to ease the continuing political tension in the country.
"Kenyan citizens want peace. Let the government start working towards Kenyas prosperity, instead of engaging in such theatrics," he said.
"Let them dialogue so that those who were not satisfied can present their pleas for a solution to be found."
