Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has reiterated no politician vying for the seat of governor will beat him in the August general election.Ojaamong said he enjoys majority support in the border county and expressed confidence he will emerge victorious after the poll.“I want to assure you that no one will beat me in Busia,” the county chief said during the burial of the county’s Chief Executive for Water and Environment Gregory Odeke’s father, the late John Epus in Amagoro.Busia is among counties where the battle for governorship is expected to be cut-throat.Ojaamong will face-off with Funyula MP and former ODM deputy chairman Paul Otuoma in the battle for the county’s top post.Otuoma will be contesting for the seat as an independent candidate after withdrawing his membership from the Orange party. He resigned from ODM on Friday last week after accusing the party’s leadership of denying him the nomination certificate.Otuoma claimed he won the primary election against Ojaamong. He also claimed Ojaamong rigged the poll in Teso North and Teso South sub-counties.The County ODM Elections Board declared Ojaamong winner with 92,356 votes against Otuoma’s 63,752.Otuoma has constantly accused Ojaamong of mismanaging county resources, claims the governor denies.Others in the race for the seat include Vincent Sidai (ANC) and Luca Meso (Jubilee).There’s speculation Otuoma may pick his running-mate from Teso North Sub County.
