Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has claimed that the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission is carrying out a political witchhunt  on him.

According to Ojaamong,IEBC was  being used by certain cartels to bar him from contesting in the August polls.

Speaking on Monday, Ojaamong said the allegations brought against him by the anti-graft agency are fabricated.

He is accused of corruptly acquiring property worth over Sh220 million and benefiting from Sh91 million street lighting project.

"We used the money to pay casual workers and we have told EACC that severally, it seems they are so idle and have nothing to do," Ojaamong stressed.

The County boss maintained that the move by the commission was just but a publicity stunt.

"EACC started investigating me three years ago if they had evidence, why didn't they table it at the DPP's office all this time?" Ojaamong wondered.
