Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong and Samia leaders have agreed to bury political differences and work together to deliver services to the people of Samia.

Speaking at Mufumu village in Agenga Nanguba Ward, during the burial of a prominent Samia businessman Christopher Wanyama alias Sio on Saturday, Ojaamong said he will work with MCAs and MP from the area in service delivery.

"We shall strive to work as a team with Samia leaders to solve problems afflicting the residents. My government will work with the MP to ensure food store is constructed in the area to end food scarcity. Water is another major challenge facing the people of Samia. We are in talks with the World Bank to tap water from Lake Victoria and have it delivered to doorsteps of residents," he said, adding that they want to find a lasting solution to water scarcity in the County.

Ojaamong said he wants to teach new leaders in Samia politics of development and not of abusing other leaders. He added that funds to Counties will start trickling in a week or two and assured students that bursaries will be processed as soon as they receive the funds.

Ojaamong was accompanied by First Lady Judy Ojaamong. The late Wanyama was the father to the Governor's secretary Jackline Wanyama

Funyula MP Oundo Mudenyo said: "Politics is now behind us. I have not come to fight you. We want the problem of water in Samia solved. I will avail electricity through Rural Electrification Authority. The County government should only provide water and we shall use electricity to pump water to every household," he said.

Area MCA Evans Barasa (LPK) thanked the Governor for the choice of Speaker Bernard Wamalwa from Agenga Nanguba. He told him not to end there and pledged to work with his government despite political affiliations.
