Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has affirmed that he will sack all officers in his government who supported his challenger in the August 8 General Election Paul Otuoma.
The governor has termed the move as a betrayal and promised to retain only staff that stood by him in the hotly contested poll.
“All officers who supported my rival Otuoma during the August elections will be fired as I form my new government,” he said during a press conference in his office, adding that County Executive Members (CEM) will also be hired on a renewable one-year contract.
He further vowed to sack nurses who have not resumed duty urging for patience as he re-organises the Health department.
“It is not me firing the nurses. It is the nurses themselves who absconded duty. I have been pushed to the wall and left with no choice but to start everything afresh,” he said.
