The Nyamira Senator is planning to file an impeachment motion on President Kenyatta on grounds that he has violated the constitution by failing to disclose the number of soldiers who died in Somalia earlier this year among other substantive issues.

According to the Star, Okong’o said tyranny of numbers would not work since he will educate his colleagues to defend the constitution of the country.

“I will be calling upon senators to rise upon the occasion and defend the constitution. My motion is not about tyranny of numbers but a challenge to senators to live up to the oath of office,” He said.

“As a patriotic Kenya, I will offer to educate my colleagues who may not understand the need for the impeachment motion. I will remind them they have a duty to defend the constitution,” he added.

Okong’o will be running against President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 polls after launching his presidential bid few days ago.
