The Kibera Member of Parliament’s office on Monday reached out to the victims of the Sunday fire which consumed people’s belongings at Makina ward.
The Tuff gong area fire left 59 families homeless and saw them lose all their property.
The office of the area MP, Ken Okoth went to support the victims and donated various items such as food stuffs, mattresses, iron sheets and blankets.
The move touched residents in Kibera who expressed their gratitude to the MP’s office.
Amos Wafula said this shows how the office understands the people’s needs and problems.
‘‘The office has proved that it can actually cater for the poor Kibera residents. I really thank the MP’s office,’’ he said.
Another resident, Abass Mohamed took to his Facebook page and expressed his gratitude for the donations.
John Ogonda too said that that was the best move since the residents could have lost hope but the action brought not just a smiles on their faces but also hope to live again.
