Speaking on Citizen TV during the morning show, Okoth said that it was a show of dissatisfaction for the male legislators not to have supported the bill in parliament. He further noted that the issue of women representation is a thing that is being addressed globally and that for Kenya, it is something that has been provided for by the constitution.

The legislator further said that there should be a provision that provides for two senators per county so that one position can be reserved for a man and the other, for a lady. However, his sentiments did not go well with Moses Kuria who was among the invited persons in the morning show. Kuria noted that the current wage bill that is ballooning on daily basis cannot support the bill and this explains why he never voted for the bill.

Despite the bill failing twice in Parliament, Okoth said he is still optimistic the bill shall become a law in the near future. He said that he shall engage in renewed push to convince his fellow legislators to support the bill.
